Troubleshooting on the Road

Recovering a Stuck Vehicle

~1min read

If you cannot drive out of sand, mud or deep snow, contact roadside assistance (see previous page).

If the vehicle only needs to be moved a few meters to be freed, use the removable towing eye supplied with your vehicle. Make sure you use an undamaged towing eye designed specifically for your vehicle.

To attach the front towing eye to the left side of the front bumper, do the following:

1. Take the towing eye, wheel wrench and flat-blade screwdriver from the tool kit stored in the left compartment of the luggage compartment.

2. Remove the cover from the bumper by pressing on its right edge with your finger.

3. Screw the towing eye into the threaded hole behind the removed cover and tighten it securely with the wheel wrench.

Lifting the vehicle or towing it using a hitch attached to the bumper may cause vehicle damage.

The bumper is not capable of supporting the weight of the vehicle.

Clutch slipping while attempting to free the vehicle may cause overheating and transmission damage.

To avoid damage, it is recommended to call a tow truck.

ВНИМАНИЕ
WARNING

To avoid damaging the vehicle when towing by the front eye, the road surface must be level. Do not tow the vehicle if the tow line must be positioned at an angle to the vehicle's longitudinal axis.

Do not use the towing eye to tow the vehicle on public roads.
