Playing Compact Discs

~10min read

To load or play compact discs, the ignition key must be in the ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) position.

The same knobs and buttons used to tune the radio are used to control the CD player / CD changer.

To listen to compact discs using the CD changer or CD player, press the CD/AUX button. The track number and playing time are shown on the display.

If the vehicle is equipped with a CD changer, the disc number is shown on the display. Use the TITLE button to select the type of information shown on the display. The system will continuously play the compact disc until you change the audio system mode.

Do not use compact discs with labels attached. The label may peel off and cause the compact disc to become stuck in the player mechanism.

The audio system can play CD-R and CD-RW discs, including discs recorded in MP3 or WMA compression formats. The player display shows the folder number and the track number being played. A compact disc must contain no more than 255 folders. A folder may contain no more than 255 files. A disc must not contain more than 999 files.

Even if a disc contains more than 99 folders, only two digits are shown on the display.

This audio system does not play Video CD or DVD discs.

If any WMA file is protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM), the message "UNSUPPORTED" will appear on the display, and the audio system will skip to the next file.

Files recorded with some software programs may not play, or some text information may not be shown on the display.

During playback of any disc, you can load a new compact disc into an empty slot by pressing the corresponding preset button.

The system will switch from playback mode to loading mode. After loading is complete, the system will play the disc that was just loaded.

Text Information Display Function

Each time the TITLE button is pressed, text information is shown on the display if it is recorded on the compact disc.

The display can show the album name, artist name and track name. If an MP3 or WMA disc is playing, the display will show the file and folder names, artist name, album name and track title.
