Tire Pressure Monitoring System

~1min read

Your vehicle is equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, which activates when the engine is started.

The system monitors the rotational speed of each wheel when the vehicle speed is above 25 km/h. The system interprets a difference in wheel rotational speeds as a possible drop in tire pressure. In this case, the low tire pressure warning indicator on the instrument panel comes on.

The system does not measure tire pressure. Check the tire pressure of all wheels, including the spare tire, manually once a month in cold weather. For information on checking tire pressure, refer to page 486.
