Towing a Trailer
Your vehicle is primarily designed to carry passengers and their luggage.
However, if the load capacity requirements and the rules set out below are observed, and recommended equipment is used, you may use the vehicle to tow a trailer.
Your vehicle is equipped with a Trailer Sway Control system, which helps maintain directional stability of the towing vehicle and trailer by reducing vehicle speed. Additional information is provided on page 419.
Break-In Period: During the first 1000 km of vehicle operation, do not tow a trailer.
Before towing a trailer off paved roads, read the section "Off-Road Driving" on page 421.
Exceeding the permissible vehicle loads, as well as improper placement of cargo in the vehicle and trailer, may cause a traffic accident resulting in injury or death.
Before driving, carefully check that the vehicle and trailer are loaded correctly.
