Idle Speed Adjustment
Adjustment Conditions
Headlights, electric radiator fan, and all electrical loads must be switched off, and the transmission must be in Neutral.
PROCEDURE
1. Warm the engine until the engine coolant temperature is 80–95 °C.
2. Increase the engine speed to 2000–3000 min⁻¹ for no more than 5 s.
3. Then let the engine idle for 2 min.
4. Using a tachometer, check the idle speed. If the idle speed differs from the specification, adjust it by turning the idle speed adjusting screw SAS-1.
Do not turn screw SAS-2, which sets the clearance between the throttle valve and the lever and is precisely adjusted at the factory. If this adjustment is disturbed, the throttle valve position adjustment and the starting device adjustment cannot be performed with sufficient accuracy.
