Throttle Body

1 – screw (non-adjustable);
2 – switch, automatic transmission vehicles only;
3 – throttle body;
4 – bolt, 15–20 N•m;
5 – gasket;
6 – air chamber.

Removal

Do not remove the throttle valve.

Remove the throttle position sensor.

Remove the throttle position sensor only when replacing it.

Inspection

PROCEDURE

1. Check the throttle body for cracks.
2. Check that the vacuum passages are clean.
3. Check the accelerator cable free play.

The throttle stop screw has been set on the line with an air flow of 0.516 ± 5% g/s, so adjusting it yourself is not recommended.

If the idle speed does not meet the specification, first check the related sensors.

Carbon deposits in the throttle body do not need to be cleaned, as they do not affect the operation of the fuel system at all.
