PROCEDURE

1. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed.
2. Check that the accelerator cable has no free play.

3. If the accelerator cable has free play, adjust it as follows:

– loosen the adjusting nut so that the throttle lever is free;
– eliminate any sharp bends in the accelerator cable;
– to move the cable housing toward the throttle lever, turn the adjusting nut until the throttle lever begins to move, then back it off one turn and tighten the adjusting nut.
