Spark Plug Inspection

PROCEDURE

1. Отсоедините провод от отрицательной клеммы аккумуляторной батареи. За наконечник

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Disconnect the high-tension cables from the spark plugs by grasping the boot.

When disconnecting the high-tension cables from the spark plugs, pull on the boot, not the cable, as the cable may be damaged.

2. Clean the spark plugs with compressed air to prevent dirt from entering the cylinders after removal. Remove the spark plug using a spark plug wrench. To prevent damage to the spark plug, install the spark plug wrench strictly along the spark plug axis.

3. Проверьте свечи зажигания на наличие следующих дефектов:

3. Inspect the spark plugs for the following defects:

1) damaged insulator;
2) worn electrodes;
3) carbon deposits;
4) damaged gasket;
5) condition of the insulator at the spark plug tip.

4. Проволочным шаблоном проверьте межэлектродный зазор свечи зажигания.

4. Using a wire-type gauge, check the spark plug electrode gap.

Adjust the gap by bending the side electrode.

The spark plug electrode gap is very important, since if the gap is too large or too small, the spark size changes, which reduces engine performance. The gap must always meet the specifications.

Never bend the center electrode, as this may crack the insulator and cause the spark plug to fail. Use a special tool to bend the side electrode of the spark plug.
Spark plug electrode gap: 1.0-1.1 mm

5. Вверните свечу зажигания в головку блока цилиндров.

5. Install the spark plug into the cylinder head.
Tightening torque: 20-30 N•m
