Generator - Assembly and Installation

Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

Pay attention to the following:

Before installing the rotor into the rear bracket, insert a thin wire into the small hole in the rear bracket to hold the brushes in the raised position.

Remove the wire after installing the rotor.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the generator in place and insert the pivot bolt. (Do not tighten the pivot bolt nut.) 2. Push the generator forward and determine how many shims (each 0.198 mm thick) must be inserted between the generator front support and the front engine cover (clearance "A" in the figure).

(Select the number of shims so that they do not fall out when inserted into the clearance.)

3. Insert the shims (into clearance "A" in the figure), then connect and tighten the pivot bolt nut to complete the installation.
