Fuel Pressure Sensor (FPS) Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

The Fuel Pressure Sensor (FPS) is installed on top of the low-pressure fuel pump and measures the fuel pressure in the low-pressure fuel line. Based on the current fuel pressure and the amount of fuel consumed, the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM) determines whether to activate the low-pressure fuel pump. After the low-pressure fuel pump is activated, the FPS continues to communicate with the FPCM to measure fuel pressure and control low-pressure fuel supply.
