Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) prevents the vehicle from rolling backward when starting from a stop on a hill. The system automatically applies the brakes for approximately 2 seconds and releases the brake when the accelerator pedal is depressed or after 2 seconds.

WARNING

Always be ready to depress the accelerator pedal when starting on a slope. HAC only operates for approximately 2 seconds.

✽ NOTICE

  • HAC does not operate when the shift lever is in P (Park) or N (Neutral).
  • HAC operates even when ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is turned off, but does not operate when there is a malfunction in ESC.
