While driving
The ESC OFF mode should only be used briefly to help free the vehicle when stuck in snow or mud, by temporarily disabling ESC to maintain wheel torque.
To turn off ESC while driving, press the ESC OFF button while driving on a level road surface.
CAUTION
To avoid damage to the drivetrain:
- Do not allow the wheel(s) of one axle to spin excessively while the ESC, ABS, and brake warning lights are illuminated. Damage caused by this is not covered by the vehicle warranty. Reduce engine power and do not spin the wheel(s) excessively while these lights are on.
- When operating the vehicle on a dynamometer, make sure ESC is turned off (ESC OFF indicator light is on).
✽ NOTICE
Turning off ESC does not affect ABS or the standard operation of the braking system.
