Always connect the safety chains between the vehicle and the trailer. Cross the safety chains under the trailer tongue so that the trailer will not drop to the road if it separates from the hitch.

Instructions for the safety chains are provided by the hitch manufacturer or by the trailer manufacturer.

Follow the manufacturer's recommendations when connecting the safety chains.

Leave enough slack to allow the trailer to turn.

Never let the safety chains drag on the ground.
