Always come to a complete stop and keep the brake pedal pressed. Move the shift lever to P (Park), firmly apply the parking brake, and the ignition switch must be in the LOCK/OFF position. Take the key with you when leaving the vehicle.

WARNING If you intend to park with the engine running, take care not to keep the accelerator pressed for a long time. The engine or exhaust system may overheat, causing a fire. Exhaust gases and the exhaust system are very hot. Keep away from exhaust system components. Do not park, or idle the engine, over or near flammable materials such as grass, straw, leaves, paper, etc. They may catch fire and cause a fire.
