Catalytic Converter Operating Precautions (if equipped)
The vehicle is equipped with a catalytic converter emission control device.
Therefore, observe the following precautions:
- Use only UNLEADED GASOLINE for gasoline engines.
- Do not drive the vehicle when there are signs of malfunction, such as misfiring or a noticeable loss of performance.
- Do not misuse or abuse the engine. Examples include coasting with the engine switched off and driving downhill with the engine switched off.
- Do not run the engine at high idle speed for extended periods (5 minutes or more).
- Do not modify or tamper with any part of the emission control system or engine. It is recommended that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- Avoid driving with a very low fuel level. If the vehicle runs out of fuel, the engine may fail to start and the catalytic converter may be damaged.
If these precautions are not observed, the catalytic converter may be damaged. Such actions may also void the warranty.
