Driving Your Vehicle

Disc Brake Wear Indicator

~1min read

When your brake pads are worn and new pads are needed, you will hear a high-pitched squealing noise from the front or rear brakes. You may hear this noise intermittently, or it may occur every time you apply the brake pedal.

Be aware that certain driving conditions or weather conditions may cause the brakes to squeal when you first apply the brakes (or when braking lightly). This is normal and does not indicate a brake problem.

NOTICE

To avoid costly repairs, do not continue driving with worn brake pads.

Intelligent

Always replace front or rear brake pads in sets.
