Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
WARNING
The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) does not prevent accidents caused by inappropriate or dangerous maneuvers. Even though vehicle control is improved during emergency braking, always maintain a safe distance between your vehicle and objects in front of you. Vehicle speed should always be reduced in extreme road conditions. Braking distance for vehicles equipped with ABS may be more important than for those systems that are not included in the following situations.
Under these road conditions, the vehicle should be driven at reduced speed:
- Bumpy, gravel or snow-covered roads.
- On roads with potholes or uneven surfaces.
- Snow chains are installed on your vehicle.
The protective equipment of a vehicle equipped with ABS should not be tested during fast driving or cornering. This could endanger you or others.
ABS is an electronic brake system that prevents the vehicle from skidding during braking. ABS allows the driver to steer and brake at the same time.
