Battery Saver Function, Headlight Delay Function
Battery Saver Feature
The purpose of this function is to prevent the battery from discharging. The system automatically turns off the parking lights when the driver turns off the engine and opens the driver's door.
With this function, the parking lights will turn off automatically if the driver parks on the side of the road at night. If necessary, to keep the lights on with the engine off, do the following:
1) Open the driver's door.
2) Turn the position lights off and then back on using the light switch on the steering column.
Headlight Delay Function
If the ignition key is set to the ACC or OFF position with the headlights ON, the headlights (and/or parking lights) remain on for about 5 minutes. However, with the engine off, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights (and/or parking lights) turn off after 15 seconds.
The headlights (and/or parking lights) can be turned off by pressing the lock button on the remote key or smart key twice, or by turning the light switch to the OFF or AUTO position. However, if you turn the light switch to the AUTO position when it is dark outside, the headlights will not turn off.
You can activate or deactivate the Headlight Delay function from the User Settings mode on the LCD display.
NOTICE
If the driver exits the vehicle through another door (other than the driver's door), the Battery Saver function does not work and the Headlight Delay function does not turn off automatically. Therefore, this may discharge the battery. In this case, be sure to turn off the lights before leaving the vehicle.
