Side Mirrors

~1min read

Your vehicle is equipped with both left-side and right-side outside rearview mirrors. The mirrors can be adjusted remotely with the mirror adjustment switch. The outside rearview mirrors can be folded manually to prevent damage when driving through an automatic car wash or passing through a narrow street.

The right side mirror is convex. Objects seen in the mirror are closer than they appear.

Use the inside rearview mirror or look over your shoulder directly to determine the actual distance to other vehicles before changing lanes.

Be sure to adjust the side mirrors to the desired position before driving.

WARNING

Do not adjust or fold the side mirrors while driving. This may cause loss of vehicle control, resulting in an accident.

NOTICE

  • Do not scrape ice from the mirror; this may damage the glass surface.
  • If the mirror is frozen, do not adjust the mirror forcibly. Use an approved aerosol de-icer (not radiator antifreeze) spray, or a sponge or soft cloth with very warm water, or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt.
  • Do not clean the mirror with abrasive materials, gasoline, or other petroleum-based cleaning agents.

Adjusting the Outside Rearview Mirrors

1. Move the lever (1) to either the L (left side) or R (right side) position to select the outside rearview mirror you want to adjust.

2. Use the mirror adjustment switch (2) to move the selected mirror up, down, left, or right.

3. After adjustment, move the lever (1) to the center position to prevent accidental adjustment.

Folding the Outside Rearview Mirror

To fold the outside rearview mirror, grasp the mirror housing and fold it toward the rear of the vehicle.
