Heating
1. Set the mode to
position.
2. Set the air intake control to the outside (fresh) air position.
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.
5. If desired, turn on the air conditioning with the temperature control dial set to heat to dehumidify the air before it enters the cabin. If the windshield fogs up, set the mode to
Gold
position.
- To prevent unpleasant odors, dust or smoke from entering the vehicle through the ventilation system, temporarily set the air intake control to the recirculation position. Be sure to return the control to the fresh air position when the irritant has passed to maintain fresh air in the vehicle. This will help keep the driver alert and comfortable.
- To prevent interior fogging of the windshield, set the air intake control to the fresh air position, set the fan speed to the desired setting, turn on the air conditioning system, and adjust the temperature control to the desired temperature.
1. Start the vehicle.
2. Press the air conditioner button.
3. Set the mode to the face level position.
mode.
4. Set the air intake control to the Recirculation mode to temporarily allow the cabin to cool down quickly. Once the desired cabin temperature is reached, return the air intake control to the Fresh mode.
5. Adjust the blower speed and temperature control to maintain maximum comfort.
If maximum cooling is required, set the temperature control to the minimum position, then set the fan speed control to the highest setting.
NOTICE
- When using the air conditioning system, closely monitor the engine temperature gauge while driving uphill or in heavy traffic at high outside temperatures. Operating the air conditioning system while climbing a steep grade or at high outside temperatures may cause engine overheating. Continue to run the fan, but turn the air conditioning system off if the engine temperature gauge indicates engine overheating.
- The air conditioning evaporator (cooling coil) must never be repaired or replaced with one removed from a used or salvaged vehicle. New MAC evaporator replacements must be certified (and labeled) as meeting SAE J2842 standard.
- If the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight in hot weather, open the windows briefly to allow hot air to escape from the vehicle.
- After sufficient cooling has been achieved, switch back from recirculated air to the fresh outside air position.
- To reduce humidity inside the windows on rainy or humid days, reduce humidity inside the vehicle using the air conditioning system with the windows and sunroof closed.
- Run the air conditioning system for several minutes every month to ensure maximum system performance.
- If the air conditioning is used excessively, the difference between the outside air temperature and the windshield temperature may cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, resulting in reduced visibility. In this case, set the mode selection button to the position and set the fan speed control dial to the lowest speed setting.
