Driving at Night
Night driving is more dangerous than daytime driving. Keep the following important tips in mind:
• Reduce your speed and increase the distance between you and other vehicles, as visibility decreases at night, especially on roads without street lighting.
• Adjust the mirrors to reduce glare from the headlights of other vehicles.
• Keep the headlights clean and, on vehicles without automatic headlight leveling, make sure they are correctly aimed. Dirty or misaligned headlights significantly reduce visibility at night.
• Do not look directly into the headlights of oncoming vehicles. You may be temporarily blinded, and your eyes will need several seconds to readjust to the darkness.
