Driving at Sustained High Speed

Tires

Adjust the tire pressure to the specifications. Low tire pressure will cause the tires to overheat and may cause damage.

Avoid using worn or damaged tires, which may reduce road grip or cause tire failure.

NOTE

Never exceed the maximum pressure indicated on the tire.

WARNING

• Insufficient or excessive tire pressure may cause handling difficulties, up to loss of control, and a sudden tire failure may result in traffic accidents, injury, or death. Always check the tire pressure before driving.
Recommended tire pressure values are listed in the "Tires and Wheels" section of Section 8.
• It is dangerous to drive a vehicle with tires that have no tread or insufficient tread depth.
Worn tires may cause loss of vehicle control, collisions, injury, or death. Replace them as soon as possible and never use them for driving. Always check the tire tread before driving.
Additional information and minimum tread depth limits are listed in the "Tires and Wheels" section of Section 7.

Fuel, Engine Coolant, and Engine Oil

Driving at high speed requires more fuel than normal city driving. Remember to check the engine coolant and engine oil levels.

Drive Belt

A loose or damaged drive belt may cause the engine to overheat.
