While the power liftgate is operating, if the power liftgate detects any obstacle, the liftgate stops or fully opens. The automatic reverse function may not operate properly, or it may operate unexpectedly under the following conditions:

  • The automatic reverse function may not detect resistance if the detected resistance is below a certain level, or if the liftgate is almost fully closed near the latched position.
  • The automatic reverse function may activate when a strong force is applied without any obstacle present.

WARNING

Never intentionally place any objects or use any part of your body to test the automatic reverse function.

Information

The power liftgate may stop operating if the automatic reverse function activates more than two times while attempting to open or close the liftgate. If this occurs, carefully open or close the liftgate manually, then wait 30 seconds before attempting to operate the power liftgate again.
