The smart liftgate system with hands-free function can be used when:

  • The "Smart Liftgate" option is enabled in the settings menu on the instrument cluster or infotainment system.
  • The smart liftgate is activated 15 seconds after all doors are closed and locked.
  • The smart liftgate opens when the smart key is detected in the area behind the vehicle within 3 seconds.

Information

The smart liftgate does not operate when:

  • The door is not locked and closed.
  • The smart key is detected inside the vehicle 15 seconds after the doors are closed and locked.
  • The smart key is detected inside the vehicle 15 seconds after the doors are closed and locked, and within 60 in (1.5 m) of the front door handles (for vehicles with Welcome Light system).
  • The smart key is inside the vehicle.
