Autostop mode
In this manual: STARTING AND OPERATING
~1min read
- Vehicles equipped with the Stop/Start system have two batteries. Both the main and auxiliary batteries must be disconnected to completely de-energize the 12-volt electrical system.
- WARNING: Disconnecting both batteries may result in serious injury or death. Do not disconnect both batteries. For proper disconnection procedures, contact an authorized dealer.
The Stop/Start function is enabled after every driver ignition cycle. At this time the system will enter STOP/START READY, and if all other conditions are met, it can enter AUTOSTOP mode (STOP/START AUTOSTOP ACTIVE).
To activate Autostop mode, the following must occur:
- The system must be in the STOP/START READY state. The STOP/START READY message will appear in the Stop/Start section of the instrument cluster display.
- The vehicle must be completely stopped.
- The shift lever must be in Drive and the brake pedal must be pressed.
