In this manual: STARTING AND OPERATING
~1min read
- Vehicles equipped with the Stop/Start system have two batteries. Both the main and auxiliary batteries must be disconnected to completely de-energize the 12-volt electrical system.
- Do not disconnect both batteries. Doing so may result in serious injury or death. Refer to an authorized dealer for the correct disconnection procedure.
The Stop/Start function is enabled each time the ignition is turned on. It will remain in the STOP/START NOT READY state until the vehicle is driven forward at a speed above 8 km/h. At this time, the system will enter the STOP/START READY state and, if all other conditions are met, may enter the STOP/START AUTO STOP ACTIVE state.
To activate the STOP/START AUTO STOP ACTIVE state, the following must occur:
- The system must be in the STOP/START READY state. The message STOP/START READY will appear in the instrument cluster.
- Vehicle speed must be less than 2 mph (3 km/h).
- The gear selector must be in the NEUTRAL position and the clutch pedal must be fully released.
