Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist can apply braking force when an approaching vehicle is detected within a certain distance beside/behind your vehicle.
It gently applies braking force to the wheel on the side opposite the possible collision point. The instrument cluster will notify the driver when the system is activated.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is automatically deactivated when:
- The vehicle deviates from its driving lane by a certain distance.
- The vehicle direction is changed relative to the possible collision point.
- The steering wheel is turned sharply.
- The brake pedal is depressed.
- A certain amount of time has elapsed.
The driver should drive the vehicle in the middle of the traffic lane to keep the system in a ready state.
When the vehicle approaches too close to one side of the traffic lane, the system may not operate properly.
In addition, the system may not control your vehicle appropriately for road conditions. Therefore, always pay attention to the road situation.
WARNING
- The driver is responsible for accurate steering.
- Do not hold the steering wheel unnecessarily while the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist system is operating.
- Always exercise extreme caution while driving. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may not operate or may operate unnecessarily depending on road conditions.
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is not a substitute for safe driving; it is a convenience feature only. It is the driver's responsibility to always drive carefully to avoid unexpected and sudden situations. Pay attention to road conditions at all times.
