Driving Your Vehicle

Blind-Spot Collision Warning

~1min read

If a vehicle is detected within the system range, the warning light will illuminate on the outside rearview mirror.

Once the detected vehicle is no longer in the blind spot, the warning will turn off depending on the driving conditions of the vehicle.

Second-Stage Warning

[A]: Warning sound

The warning chime to alert the driver sounds when:

1. In the first warning stage, the warning light on the outside rearview mirror comes on, and
2. the turn signal is on (on the same side where the vehicle is detected).

When this warning is activated, the warning light on the outside rearview mirror will also flash, and a warning chime will sound.

If you turn off the turn signal, the second-stage warning will be deactivated.

Once the detected vehicle is no longer in the warning zone, the warning will turn off depending on the driving conditions of the vehicle.

WARNING

  • The warning light on the outside rearview mirror will illuminate whenever a vehicle is detected on the rear side of the system. To avoid accidents, do not focus only on the warning light and neglect viewing the vehicle's surroundings.
  • Drive safely even if the vehicle is equipped with Blind-Spot Collision Warning. Do not rely solely on the system; check your surroundings before changing lanes or backing up the vehicle.
  • The system may not warn the driver under some conditions, so always check your surroundings while driving.

CAUTION

  • The driver should always exercise extreme caution when driving, whether or not the warning light on the outside rearview mirror illuminates or a warning alarm sounds.
  • Playing the vehicle audio system at high volume may prevent you from hearing the Blind-Spot Collision Warning sounds.
  • Blind-Spot Collision Warning may not sound while other warning sounds are active.
