Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

  1. Release the residual pressure in the fuel line.

    (See Fuel System - "Relieve Fuel Line Residual Pressure")

  2. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

  3. Remove the rear seat cushion.

    (See Body - "Rear Seat Assembly")

  4. Remove the fuel pump service cover (A).

  5. Disconnect the fuel pump connector (A).

  6. Disconnect the quick-connector of the fuel supply line (B).

  7. Remove the center muffler assembly.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - Muffler)

  8. Disconnect the filler hose (A), the balance hose (B), and the vent hose (C).

  9. Support the fuel tank with a jack (A).

  10. Remove the fuel tank mounting nuts (B), then remove the fuel tank.

    Fuel Tank Strap Mounting Nut:

    39,2–54 N·m

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
