Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

  1. Release the residual pressure in the fuel line.

    (Refer to Fuel System - "Release Residual Pressure from Fuel Line")

  2. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

  3. Remove the intake manifold.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Intake Manifold")

  4. Remove the drive belt.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Drive Belt")

  5. Remove the injector insulator (A).

  6. Create a clearance (B) between the generator (A) and the engine assembly by pulling the generator in the direction of the arrow.

  7. Remove the high pressure fuel tube (A) after loosening the high pressure fuel line flange nut (B) and the functional block mounting bolt (C).

    High Pressure Fuel Line Flange Nut:

    26,5–32 N·m

    High Pressure Fuel Line Functional Block Mounting Bolt:

    9,8–11.8 N·m

  8. Remove the delivery pipe and injector assembly (B) after loosening the mounting bolt (A).

    Delivery Pipe and Injector Assembly Mounting Bolt:

    18,6–24 N·m

  9. Disconnect the injector and the pressure sensor connector on the delivery pipe (A).

  10. Remove the injector (A) from the delivery pipe.

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
