When the radar sensor cover is blocked by dirt, snow, or debris, the Smart Cruise Control system may be temporarily canceled. If this happens, a warning message will appear on the LCD display. Remove the dirt, snow, or debris and clean the radar sensor cover before using the Smart Cruise Control system. The Smart Cruise Control system may activate incorrectly if the radar is completely contaminated, or if an object or vehicle is not detected after the engine is started (for example, on open terrain).
