During power opening and closing if the power tailgate is blocked by an object '

During power opening and closing, if the power liftgate is blocked by an object or a part of the body, the power liftgate detects resistance.

  • If resistance is detected while opening the power liftgate, it stops and moves in the opposite direction.
  • If an obstruction is detected while the liftgate is closing, it will stop and reverse direction. However, if the obstruction is weak, such as a thin or soft object, or if the liftgate is close to the fully closed position, the automatic stop and reverse function may not detect the obstruction.

If the automatic reverse function operates more than two times consecutively while opening or closing the power liftgate, the power liftgate may stop in that position. In this case, close the liftgate manually and then open it automatically again.

WARNING

Never place any objects or body parts in the path of the power liftgate while it is operating. This may cause injury or damage to the vehicle.
