To Stop the Engine at Idle

Bring the vehicle to a complete stop by depressing the brake pedal when the shift lever is in the D (Drive) or N (Neutral) position.

The engine will stop and the green AUTO STOP () indicator will illuminate on the instrument cluster.

✽ NOTICE

If the hood is opened in Auto Stop mode, the following will occur:

  • The ISG system will be deactivated (the ISG OFF button indicator will illuminate).
  • A message will appear on the LCD display.
  • If you shift the shift lever from N to D (Drive), manual mode, or R without depressing the brake pedal after the engine has stopped automatically, the engine will not restart automatically and a warning chime will sound. When this occurs, depress the brake pedal to start the engine automatically.
