The system may not operate when:

The system may not operate if a sensor or system related to the ISG malfunctions.

The following will happen:

  • The yellow AUTO STOP () indicator on the instrument cluster will remain on after flashing for 5 seconds.
  • The ISG OFF button indicator will illuminate.

✽ NOTICE

If the ISG OFF button indicator does not turn off after pressing the ISG OFF button again, or if the ISG system continues to malfunction, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

When the engine is in idle stop mode, it may restart without any action by the driver. Before exiting the vehicle or performing any work in the engine compartment, stop the engine by turning the ignition key to the LOCK/OFF position or remove the ignition key.

✽ NOTICE

If the AGM battery is reconnected or replaced, the ISG function will not operate immediately. If you want to use the ISG function, the battery sensor must be calibrated for approximately 4 hours with the ignition off. After calibration, start and stop the engine 2-3 times.
