Driver Attention Warning
The driver should be careful in the following situations, because the system is limited when lane marking recognition is poor or restricted:
► When the lane and road condition is poor
- It is difficult to distinguish lane markings from the road when the lane markings are covered with dust or sand.
- It is difficult to distinguish the color of the markings from the road.
- Something similar to a lane marking is present.
- Lane markings are faint or damaged.
- The number of lanes increases/decreases or lane lines cross (driving through a toll gate/toll plaza, merged/divided lane).
- More than two lane markings are present.
- The lane marking is very thick or thin.
- Lane markings are not visible due to snow, rain, stains, puddles, or other factors.
- Shadows on the lane markings from a median strip, guardrail, noise barriers, or other objects.
- When lane markings are complex or lines are replaced by construction, such as a construction site.
- Crosswalk markings or other symbols are on the road.
- The lane suddenly disappears, such as at an intersection.
- Markings in a tunnel are covered with dirt or oil, etc.
► When external conditions interfere
- The brightness outside changes abruptly when entering or exiting a tunnel, or when passing under a bridge.
- The headlights are off at night or in a tunnel, or the illumination level is low.
- There is a guardrail on the road.
- Light is reflected from water on the road.
- Bright light is shining behind the vehicle.
- The distance to the vehicle ahead is very short, or the vehicle ahead covers the lane markings upward.
- You are driving on a steep slope or a sharp curve.
- The vehicle vibrates excessively.
- The temperature near the inside rearview mirror is very high due to direct sunlight, etc.
► When forward visibility is poor
- The lens or windshield is covered with foreign material.
- The sensor cannot detect the lane due to fog, heavy rain, or snow.
- The windshield is fogged due to humid air inside the vehicle.
- An object on the instrument panel is interfering with the camera.
WARNING
The Lane Keeping Assist system is designed to help the driver avoid unintentional lane departure. However, the driver must not rely solely on the system and must always take the necessary measures for safe driving.
