Brake knock Brake vibration is usually caused by loose or worn parts, or by scored or burnt pads. Hardened spots on the brake discs can also contribute to brake vibration. Other causes of brake vibration include brake discs of incorrect size, brake pads not securely fitted to the brake shoes, worn wheel hub bearings and dirty brake pads.
