Check operation and leakage
Perform all subsequent inspections:
| COMPONENTS LOCATION | Work Procedures | |
| Brake Booster (A) | Check the brake operation by applying the brakes during a road test. If the brakes do not operate properly, test the brake booster function. Replace the brake booster assembly if it does not operate normally or shows signs of leakage. | |
| Master Cylinder, Piston and Control Plate (B) |
• Check the brake operation by depressing the brake pedal. Inspect the brake hoses for damage and leakage. Replace the master cylinder assembly if it does not operate properly or if signs of damage or leakage are found. • Note the difference in pedal travel when the pedal is depressed quickly and slowly. Replace the master cylinder if there is a difference in brake pedal travel. |
|
| Brake Hoses (C) | Look for damage or signs of fluid loss. Replace the brake pad with a new one if it is damaged or leaking. | |
| Brake Piston Seal and Caliper Dust Boot (D) |
Check the brake operation by depressing the brake pedal. Look for damage or signs of fluid loss. If the pedal does not operate properly, the brakes drag, or there are signs of fluid leakage, disassemble and inspect the caliper. Replace the dust boots and seals with new ones whenever the caliper is disassembled. |
