- Never move the shift lever out of Park (P) or Neutral (N) into another shift position while the accelerator pedal is depressed.
- Never move the shift lever into Park (P) while the vehicle is in motion.
- Shift into Reverse (R) or Drive (D) only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
- Never shift into Neutral and coast down a slope. This is extremely dangerous. Always drive with a gear engaged.
- Do not keep your foot on the brake pedal. This may cause overheating and malfunction. Instead, reduce speed and downshift to a lower gear when driving a long distance downhill. If necessary, engine braking will help slow the vehicle.
- Reduce speed before downshifting to a lower gear. Otherwise, the lower gear may not engage.
- Always use the parking brake. Do not rely on engaging Park (P) to keep the vehicle from rolling away.
- Drive with particular care on slippery surfaces. Be especially careful when braking, accelerating, or shifting. On slippery surfaces, a sudden change in vehicle speed may cause the drive wheels to lose traction and the vehicle to go out of control.
- The best balance of performance and fuel economy is achieved when the accelerator pedal is pressed and released slowly.
WARNING
- Always wear your seat belt! In a collision, an unbelted passenger is much more likely to suffer serious or fatal injuries than a properly belted passenger.
- Vermeiden Sie hohe Geschwindigkeiten bei Kurvenfahrten oder Abbiegen.
- Avoid sudden steering maneuvers, such as rapid lane changes or quick, sharp turns.
- The risk of rollover is significantly higher if you lose control of your vehicle at high speeds.
- Loss of control often occurs when two or more wheels leave the roadway and the driver oversteers to return to the road.
- If your vehicle leaves the roadway, avoid oversteering. Instead, slow down before steering back onto the road.
- Beachten Sie immer die geltenden Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen.
WARNING
If the vehicle is stuck in snow, mud, sand, etc., you may try to free it by rocking it alternately forward and reverse. Do not perform this procedure if people or objects are near the vehicle. When freed, the vehicle may suddenly move forward or backward and injure nearby people or damage objects.
