Vehicle Detection
The sensor may be limited when:
- Camera is blocked by an object or debris.
- Adverse weather, such as heavy rain or snow, obstructs the camera's field of view
- Camera recognition is limited.
- The vehicle ahead is too small to be detected (e.g., a motorcycle, bicycle, etc.).
- The vehicle ahead is a large vehicle or trailer that is too large to be detected by the camera recognition system (for example, a tractor, trailer, etc.).
- The camera field of view is poorly illuminated (either too dark, or excessive reflection or strong backlight obstructs the field of view).
- The tail lamps of the vehicle ahead are not properly illuminated, or the tail lamps are positioned unusually.
- External brightness changes suddenly, such as when entering or exiting a tunnel.
- When light from a street lamp or an oncoming vehicle is reflected on a wet road surface, such as a puddle.
- The forward field of view is limited by sun glare or by the headlights of oncoming vehicles.
- The windshield is fogged up.
- The vehicle ahead is driving erratically.
- The vehicle is on an unpaved or rough uneven surface, or on roads with sudden changes in grade.
- The vehicle is driving inside a building, such as an underground parking garage.
- The camera does not recognize the entire vehicle ahead.
- The camera is damaged.
- External brightness is too low, for example, when headlights are not on at night or the vehicle is driving through a tunnel.
- Adverse road conditions cause excessive vehicle vibration while driving.
- Sensor recognition changes suddenly when driving over a speed bump.
- A shadow falls on the road from the median strip, trees, etc.
- The vehicle passes through a toll gate.
- The rear of the vehicle ahead is not fully visible.
- The vehicle ahead is moving laterally across the direction of travel.
- The vehicle ahead is stopped across the direction of travel.
- The vehicle ahead is moving toward your vehicle or is reversing.
- You are on a roundabout and the vehicle ahead is circling.

- Driving on curves
FCA operation may be limited when driving on a curved road.
On curved roads, another vehicle in the same lane may not be recognized, and the performance of the FCA system may be degraded. This may cause the warning message and warning chime to activate early, or it may not activate the warning message or warning chime at all.
Additionally, in some cases the camera recognition system may not detect a vehicle driving on a curved road.
When driving through a curve, use caution, maintain a safe braking distance, and press the brake pedal as needed to reduce speed and maintain a safe distance.

The FCA system may recognize a vehicle in an adjacent lane when driving on a curved road.
In this case, the system may warn the driver and apply the brakes. Always pay attention to the road and driving conditions while driving. If necessary, press the brake pedal to reduce speed and maintain a safe distance.
In addition, if necessary, depress the accelerator pedal to prevent the system from unnecessarily decelerating your vehicle.
Always check the traffic conditions around the vehicle.

- Driving on slopes
The performance of the FCA system may be limited when driving uphill or downhill, and it may not recognize a vehicle ahead in the same lane. This may cause the warning message and warning chime to activate early, or it may not activate the warning message or warning chime at all.
When FCA suddenly recognizes a vehicle ahead while driving on a slope, you may experience sudden deceleration.
Always look ahead when driving uphill or downhill and, if necessary, depress the brake pedal to reduce vehicle speed and maintain distance.

- Lane change
When a vehicle changes lanes in front of you, the FCA system may not detect the vehicle immediately, especially if it changes lanes abruptly. In this case, maintain a safe braking distance and, if necessary, depress the brake pedal to reduce vehicle speed and maintain a safe distance.

When driving in stop-and-go traffic, or when a vehicle stopped ahead of you is merging out of your lane, the FCA system may not immediately detect the new vehicle ahead of you. In this case, maintain a safe braking distance and, if necessary, press the brake pedal to reduce speed and maintain a safe distance.

- Detection of the vehicle ahead
If the vehicle ahead has a load extending rearward from the cab, or if the vehicle ahead has a high ground clearance, additional special attention is required. The FCA system may not be able to detect a load extending from the vehicle. In such cases, maintain a safe braking distance from the rearmost object and, if necessary, depress the brake pedal to reduce vehicle speed and maintain distance.
