Active ECO Operation
Active ECO helps improve fuel efficiency by controlling the engine and transaxle. However, fuel efficiency may be affected by driving habits and road conditions.
- When you press the Active ECO button, the ECO indicator (green) illuminates to show that Active ECO is engaged.
- Once engaged, Active ECO does not disengage even if you restart the engine. To disengage the system, you must press the Active ECO button again.
- When Active ECO is turned off, the vehicle returns to normal operating mode.
Active ECO System Limitations
If Active ECO is engaged under the following conditions, the system's operation will be limited even though the ECO indicator does not change.
- Low engine coolant temperature: the system will be limited until normal operating temperature is reached.
- Driving uphill: the system will limit available power because engine torque will be restricted.
- Sport mode: the system will be limited depending on the shift lever position.
- If you press the accelerator pedal down for several seconds: the system will be limited, as it detects that the driver wants to accelerate.
