■ Type A

  • The tailgate is locked or unlocked by turning the key to the "lock" or "unlock" position.
  • When unlocked, the tailgate can be opened by pressing the handle and lifting it.

Type B

  • The tailgate is locked or unlocked at the same time as the doors are locked or unlocked using the key, the remote control (or smart key), or the central door locking switch.
  • When unlocked, the tailgate can be opened by pressing the handle and lifting it.
  • Pressing and holding the unlock button on the smart key for more than 1 second when all doors are locked unlocks the tailgate.

    When the tailgate is opened and closed again, it is automatically locked.

❈ There is no ignition key cylinder.

NOTE In cold and humid weather conditions, the locks and door mechanisms may not work properly due to freezing.

CAUTION The tailgate opens upward.

When opening, make sure there are no people or objects near the rear of the vehicle.

WARNING Make sure the tailgate is fully closed before driving.

If the tailgate is not closed before driving, the lift cylinders and their mounting devices may be damaged.
