KIA Picanto: Operating the door locks from the outside

Mechanical key

To unlock the doors, turn the key towards the front of the vehicle; to lock them, turn it towards the rear.
When locking or unlocking a door with the key, all doors are locked or unlocked accordingly.
When locking or unlocking the driver's door with the key, all doors are automatically locked or unlocked accordingly. (if equipped)
Once unlocked, the doors can be opened by pulling the handle.
When closing the door, push it with your hand. Make sure all doors are securely closed.

The doors can also be locked and unlocked with the transmitter (or the smart key). (if equipped)
The doors can be locked and unlocked by pressing the button on the outside door handle while carrying the smart key.
Once unlocked, the doors can be opened by pulling the handle.
When closing the door, push it with your hand. Make sure all doors are securely closed.

In cold and humid weather conditions, the locks and door mechanisms may not work properly due to freezing.
If the door is locked/unlocked several times in quick succession using the key or the lock switch, the system may temporarily stop functioning to protect the circuit and prevent damage to system components.

If not closed properly, the door may open again.
Take care that hands or other parts of the body do not get caught in the sunroof when closing it.

To lock a door without the key, push the interior door lock knob (1) or the central door lock switch (if equipped) (2) to the "Lock" position, then close the door (3).
When locking the door with the central door lock switch (2), all doors are automatically locked (if equipped).

NOTE When leaving the vehicle unattended, always remove the ignition key, apply the parking brake, close all windows and lock all doors.
