Operating the door locks from the inside

With the door lock knob

• To unlock a door, push the door lock knob (1) to the "Unlock" position. The red mark (2) on the knob will be visible.
• To lock a door, push the door lock knob (1) to the "Lock" position. If the door is properly locked, the red mark (2) on the knob will not be visible.
• To open a door, pull the handle (3) outward.
• If the inside handle of the front door is operated while the lock knob is in the locked position, the knob unlocks and the door opens. (if equipped)
• The front door will not lock if the key is in the ignition switch and any door is open. (if equipped)
• The door will not lock if the smart key is inside the vehicle and any door is open.

WARNING - Lock malfunction If the central locking does not work when occupants are on board, get out of the vehicle using one or more of the following methods:

• Operate the unlock function repeatedly (both electronic and manual) while pulling the handle.
• Operate the other locks and the front and rear door handles.
• Lower the front window and use the key to unlock the door from outside.

With central locking switch (if equipped) Operation is done by pressing the central door locking switch.

• Pressing the front part (1) of the switch unlocks all the vehicle doors.
• Pressing the rear part (2) of the switch unlocks all the doors.
• If the key is in the ignition switch and a front door is open, the doors will not lock even if the front part (1) of the central locking switch is pressed.
• If the smart key is in the vehicle and a door is open, the doors will not lock even if the front part (1) of the central locking switch is pressed.

WARNING - Doors

• Doors must always be closed and locked securely while driving to prevent accidental opening. Locking the doors also deters intrusion during stops and when driving at low speed.
• When opening the doors, make sure no vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles or pedestrians are approaching so as not to obstruct them. Opening a door while vehicles or people are passing may cause damage or injury.

WARNING - Doors unlocked Leaving the doors unlocked risks theft or assault by malicious persons who may enter the vehicle. When leaving the vehicle unattended, always remove the ignition key, apply the parking brake, close all windows and lock all doors. WARNING - Unattended children The temperature inside a closed vehicle can rise to very high levels, causing serious and even fatal injuries to unattended children and animals who cannot leave the vehicle. In addition, children may operate devices that could injure them or may face other dangers, such as strangers entering the vehicle. Never leave children or animals unattended in the vehicle.

Door unlock system in case of impact (if equipped) In the event of an impact that deploys the airbags, all doors are unlocked automatically.

Speed-dependent door lock system (if equipped) All doors are locked automatically when the vehicle speed exceeds 15 km/h.

All doors are unlocked automatically when the engine is switched off or the ignition key is removed (if equipped).
