Inspection
Check the condition of the connector.
Carefully inspect the connector for looseness, poor contact, bending, corrosion, contamination, deformation, or damage.
Turn the ignition switch ON, turn the engine OFF, and measure the voltage between the power supplied to the inhibitor switch circuit and ground.
Specification: approx. 12 V
Check the signal of the lock switch circuit.
Turn the ignition switch ON and the engine OFF.
Measure the voltage between each signal terminal and chassis ground in each range (P, R, N, D).
Signal Code Table

Removal
Shift the transmission to "N".
Remove the air cleaner.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")
Disconnect the inhibitor switch connector (A) and loosen the shift cable mounting nut (B).

Remove the lock-up switch (B) after removing the manual control lever (A).

Installation
Make sure the transmission is shifted to "N".
Install the manual control lever (A) after installing the lock-up switch (B).

Align the hole in the manual control lever with the "N" position hole of the lock-up switch, then insert the SST (09480-A3800).

Tighten the manual control lever mounting nut (A).
Tightening torque: 16.7–21 N·m

Tighten the lock-up switch mounting bolts (A).
Tightening Torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

Remove the SST (09480-A3800).

Connect the shift lock switch connector (A).
Tighten the nut (B) to the specified torque after eliminating play by pressing the shift cable in the direction of the arrow.
Tightening Torque: 9.8–13.7 N·m

Install the air cleaner.
