Repair Procedures
Adjustment
Check the clearance between the stop lamp switch and the bracket.
Stop lamp switch clearance (A): 1.0-2.0 mm (0.04-0.08 in.)

If the clearance between the stop lamp switch and the bracket is not 1.0 - 2.0 mm (0.04 - 0.08 in.), check the mounting clip and other parts around the stop lamp switch.
If everything is normal, reinstall the stop lamp switch and check the clearance again.
Inspection
Inspect the stop lamp switch.
Connect a circuit tester to the brake light switch connector and check for continuity when the brake light switch plunger is pressed and when it is released.
The brake light switch is normal if there is no continuity when the plunger is pressed.

Replacement
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the airbag lower panel.
(Refer to Body - "Under Cover Panel")
Disconnect the stop lamp switch connector (A).

Pull the lock plate (A) as shown by the arrow.

Turn the brake switch 45° counterclockwise and remove it.

Hold the brake pedal arm and fully insert the brake switch so that the contact part is not visible.

After insertion, turn the brake switch 45° clockwise, then install the locking plate by pressing.

Connect the connector of the brake light switch (A).

Install the emergency pad lower panel.
(Refer to Body - "Under Cover Panel")
