If the engine stalls at an intersection or railroad crossing

If the engine stalls at an intersection or railroad crossing, shift the gear selector lever to N (Neutral), then push the vehicle to a safe location.

Tire Pressure Loss While Driving

If a tire loses pressure while driving:

  1. Keep the vehicle going straight, release the accelerator pedal, and allow the vehicle to slow down. Do not brake immediately or attempt to steer off the road, as this may cause loss of vehicle control. When the vehicle has slowed enough that it is safe to brake gently and pull off the road, do so. Move as far away from the traffic lane as possible and park the vehicle on firm, level ground. If driving on a divided highway, do not stop on the median strip.
  2. Once the vehicle has stopped, turn on the hazard warning lights, apply the parking brake, and place the gear selector in P (automatic transmission) or in reverse (manual transmission).
  3. All passengers should exit the vehicle. Make sure they exit on the side farther from the flow of traffic.
  4. When changing a flat tire, follow the instructions in this section.

Engine stalls while driving

  1. Continue straight ahead and gradually reduce speed. Carefully steer off the road to a safe location.
  2. Turn on the hazard warning lights.
  3. Try to restart the engine. If the vehicle still will not start, contact an authorized Kia Motors dealer or another qualified technician.
