WARNING
  • To provide maximum protection from the pretensioner system, always wear your seat belt while driving.
  • Seat belts are most effective when the seatbacks are in the upright position.
  • Children aged 12 years and younger must always be properly secured in the rear seat.

Never allow children to ride in the front passenger seat. If a child older than 12 years must sit in the front seat, secure them properly with the seat belt and move the seat as far back as possible.

  • Never place the shoulder belt under the arm or behind the back.

An improperly worn shoulder belt can cause serious injury in an accident. The shoulder belt should be positioned at the center of the shoulder, passing over the collarbone.

  • Avoid wearing twisted seat belts. A twisted belt does not perform its function as well as it should. During a collision, it may dig into the occupant's body. Make sure the belt webbing is straight and not twisted.
  • Take care not to damage the seat belts or their anchorage components. If the seat belts or their anchorages are damaged, they must be replaced.
WARNING Seat belts are designed to protect the occupant's skeleton and should pass low around the pelvis or hips, chest and shoulders, depending on their design. It is necessary to avoid placing the lap portion of the belt across the abdomen. To provide the protection for which seat belts are designed, they should be worn as snugly as passenger comfort allows. A loose belt will reduce the protection provided to the occupant. Take care to keep belts free of cleaning agents, oils, chemicals, and especially battery electrolyte. Safe cleaning can be done with mild soap and water. The belt should be replaced if it is burned, dirty or damaged.

It is essential to replace the entire set of seat belts and their anchorages if they were used during a serious accident, even if damage is not visible at first glance. Do not use seat belts if their webbing is twisted. Each seat belt may be used by one person at a time; securing a child seated on a passenger's lap with the belt is dangerous.

WARNING
  • The user must not make any changes or additions that would either prevent the seat belt adjustment devices from operating when adjusting the length, or prevent adjustment of the seat belt assembly to remove slack.
  • When fastening the seat belts, be careful not to latch your seat's buckle into the buckle of another seat. This is very dangerous, and the seat belts will not restrain you properly.
  • Do not unfasten the seat belts while driving, and do not repeatedly fasten and unfasten the belts.

It may lead to loss of control of the vehicle and an accident resulting in death, serious injury, or property damage.

  • When fastening the seat belts, make sure they do not run over hard objects or objects that could easily break.
  • Make sure there are no objects in the seat belt buckle. The belt may not latch securely.
