The system should respond correctly to commands without difficulty. If you experience difficulty, check and take the following measures related to the problem. When solutions are listed by number, start with number 1 and continue until the problem is resolved.

Symptom or error message Solution
The system responds "Command not recognized" or the system does not recognize the command correctly.
  1. Make sure the command format is valid. Use the "List commands" or "What can I say?" command in the "Help" menu.
  2. Speak clearly without pausing between words and at a volume appropriate for the ambient noise in the vehicle.
  3. Make sure the ambient noise level is not excessive (for example, open windows or defroster on).

NOTE:

If the noise is too loud to use the phone, voice commands will probably not be recognized.

  1. If you did not use the optional words in your command, try again with those words.
