Tyre pressure
Observe the tyre pressures (including the spare wheel). Check them at least once a month and before every long journey (see the label on the driver's door).
Too low a pressure may lead to premature wear and overheating of the tyres and have a negative effect on driving safety:- it may reduce the tyre's grip on the road surface,
- it creates a risk of the tyre cracking or the tread being damaged,
Adjust the pressure according to the operating conditions (see the label on the driver's door edge).
Check the pressure when the tyres are cold. Do not take into account higher pressure values that may occur in hot weather or after a long journey at high speed.
If it is not possible to check the pressure on cold tyres, allow a correction of between 0.2 and 0.3 bar (or 3 PSI).
Never release air from hot tyres.
Note: a missing or incorrectly tightened valve cap may impair tyre sealing and cause pressure loss.Always use valve caps identical to the original ones and tighten them fully.
Vehicle fitted with a tyre pressure loss warning system
If the tyre pressure is too low (tyre puncture, under-inflation, etc.), the warning light illuminates on the instrument panel
, see the section "Tyre pressure loss warning" in chapter 2.
