Transmission Control Module (TCM) Inspection Procedure
- TCM ground circuit inspection: Measure the resistance between the TCM and the chassis ground. (Check the terminal connected to chassis ground, using the rear of the wiring harness connector as the reference point for the TCM.)
Normal reading (resistance): Less than 1 ohm
- TCM connector inspection: Disconnect the TCM connector and visually inspect for bent or damaged ground terminals in the harness connector. Also visually check the connection pressure.
- If the TCM fails the inspection in step 1 and step 2, the fault is in the TCM itself. In this case, replace the TCM and recheck the vehicle.
- TCM recheck: Install the TCM that was determined to be faulty in step 3 into another vehicle. Clear the DTC and then check operation in that vehicle. If the vehicle operates without problems, inspect the first vehicle with the initial problem again.
Removal
- Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the air duct (A).

- Disconnect the TCM connector (A).

- Remove the TCM (A) by loosening the bracket mounting nut (B-3ea).

- Remove the TCM from the bracket after loosening the bolt (A-4ea).

Installation
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Perform the clutch touch point learning procedure using GDS after replacing the TCM.
